Advanced Language
Translation Inc. Wins
Language Service Provider of
the Year at American Translators' Conference
New Orleans, LA – November 30,
2006 At the 47th
annual conference of the American Translators’ Association, Advanced
Language Translation Inc. was the winner of the language service
provider (LSP) of the Year Award at the 2nd Annual SDL
TRADOS Technologies awards ceremony. The awards night ceremonies,
attended by over 350 ATA members, were sponsored by industry
technology leaders SDL TRADOS Technologies and ProZ.com. The award
recognizes a top performing language service provider based on the
nomination and voting of language professionals attending the ATA
conference.
“We
are incredibly honored to be recognized by our friends and
colleagues” commented Scott Bass, president of Advanced
Language. “As one of the first winners of this award we realize how
important it is to gain and give recognition in what is still a very
young industry. I hope to be at next year’s conference to award it
to another deserving company.”
“The SDL TRADOS Technologies Awards are an
increasingly sought after way to recognize leaders in the
translation industry,” stated Toby Newman, Worldwide Marketing
Manager for SDL TRADOS Technologies. “The event had originally been
conceived as an enjoyable way to recognize and thank our industry
peers, colleagues and customers. However, the program has evolved
into a much more meaningful event. We noticed that the nomination
process was taken very seriously by those who were nominating
friends and colleagues and the awards committee was touched by the
sincerity and passion conveyed in the nomination
responses.”
This is
the second year that SDL TRADOS Technologies and ProZ.com have
organized and sponsored the awards at the ATA national conference.
Other awards given out that night included best translator of the
year and best terminologist. Keiran Dunne, professor of translation
and localization at
Kent
State
University, and long time
friend and associate of the winner, was present at the ceremony and
accepted the award on behalf of Advanced Language.
