Advanced Language's President Contributes to
Localization Volume
Rochester, NY
-- Scott Bass, president of Advanced Language
Translation Inc., is one of 15 contributors to a
multidisciplinary volume entitled Perspectives
on Localization. Bass's essay, "Quality in the
Real World," addresses the challenges to
translation and localization quality in today's
global on-demand economy. The book is part of
the American Translators Association's Scholarly
Monograph series.
The monograph was edited by
Keiran J. Dunne, professor of French and
Localization at Kent State University and
published by John Benjamins (www.benjamins.com).
It includes essays on:
• The business case
for localization
• Localization quality
• Game localization
• Terminology
management
• Localization
education
• Localization
standards
• New approaches to
tools, processes and the product
lifecycle
When asked about his
contribution, Bass stated, "I felt it important
as the owner of a language services company that
I express my views about how quality is
addressed on a daily basis--not just for large
multinationals, but also for the small and
mid-sized companies that are competing
effectively worldwide."
The hardbound edition is
currently in print and available for purchase.
